As someone who actually does this, you might be interested that you don't actually kiss the lady's hand, physically. It is gotten around by one of several devices. Of course there are half a dozen variants in which there is contact, and I've probably done most of them at one time or another, but usually that would be with people who wouldn't laugh. ~ Huntsman
