How do they get these Julius leathers to look so thick and soft? Are they washed? Or are they a different leather? Lamb?

it's probably full-thickness lamb from NZ or France (there's an Engrish tag that says 'Ram skin' on these things but that is an aberration of lambskin, there is from what I know, no difference between young/old/male/female apart from the fact that the meat industry sends a lot more lamb hides through than mutton production would), and then there's other ways of making leather look thicker, as well. They're chemical washed/distressed which shrinks grain and shrinks thickness overall, so I imagine they're probably fortifying the back of the leather with an interfacing as well, to get that thick seam look. They are really thick leather in person, FWIW, most of the Rick Owens jacket leathers are like half as thick as the thick black/brown Julius lamb skins.

I have a Julius calf skin boston bag that is about the same thickness and appearance as that Aero horse leather jacket back on the other page, too.

This is probably the wrong thread to ask this in, but a while back, someone was talking about MTM leathers. They had a few different styles (I remember a cafe racer and a bomber, I think), and were running around $500. Anyone remember who this was? I'm about to start shopping around, and I like Schott, but they're all a bit too big.

Definitely in the wrong thread on that one man, don't know of any company matching that description. Sounds pretty far-fetched to me.

I own Lost World horsehide Ryder jacket and Ventile Pilot coat. Have to admit, the construction on both jackets are superb and the lustre from the russet horsehide is beautiful.

In general I am wearing 36 suits, 29 trousers/jeans, Small size jackets, 14.5/33 shirts. Based on my jackets, I am wearing XS in their Pilot and 34 in the Ryder. Their jacket is cut trim (but not skinny) in the body.

Got any fit pics of these two jackets? Were they ordered in their stock sizing or custom sizing?

They are from the stock sizing. I do not have my fit pics however a while ago I posted a fit picture of the Ryder and received unfavourable comments from some users. Have no issue with that therefore in my view the demographic and aesthetics of the LW jackets may be different for some age groups.

Washed lamb... yeah that makes sense given the appearance.

I'll have to get something in brown and black washed lamb, not Julius though. Personally, I don't like their styles, just the leather.

I just looked at those LW Ryder jackets. They do indeed look impeccably constructed and the leather is very nice (their bison is superb looking).

I don't recall your pic, but, yeah for some reason pics of jackets (and not only fit pics) from Lost Worlds and Legendary USA never do it for me. I don't know exactly why.
