i think the women's leather jackets were better than the men's, my wife tried a few on and they were pretty heavy/substantial, i had a men's for about 5 mins and it was so so, definitely not a jacket that belongs in this thread

I got this recently, my first leather jacket. It's a Silent Damir Doma jacket in lambskin leather.

$40 icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif marked down from $60. Didn't come with a sweet hanger though, so did I really come out on top?

I've seen some good allsaints leather jackets the handful times I've been there. It varies though. They had some really nice goatskin jackets last time I went.

Really want a biker jacket. I'm in love with the Saint Laurent one, handled it in person the first time some days ago and it feels very awesome. I think there is a pretty fine line between jackets that are just "too authentic motorcycle-like" (if that makes sense) and those fashion jackets who just try to hard with too much details or weird cuts. The SLP one really is perfection for me, however, not feeling the price tag, I could get 2 5zips for that, meh :/

How's the leather on RO ss10 "release" compare to other seasons/brands? I've seen some from that collection pop up in my size for relatively cheap. I found one post from SZ saying the ss10 leathers were kinda flimsy, but not much aside from that. Also, what does the "intarsia" leather really mean? I know it's normally a knitting term, but RO seems to have a few leathers named intarsia that are fairly different (namely the neck). Thanks!

I see those SLP leathers around town quite a bit now, the clean leather and silver zips stand out in a very good way.

Try it before you buy.. I've seen a lot of RO leather, and the only two I can say without a doubt are quality is the FW08 Heavy Washed Lamb and the FW10 Oiled Calf. Quality control on Rick is so hit or miss, I wouldn't want to drop even $600 on something that felt like thin paper. Intarsia is just the name for a specific style of jacket, don't believe it's related to the knitting term.

Agreed. I own an AW10 oiled calf intarsia and the FW08 heavy washed lamb stooges. Both leathers are top notch, other season RO leathers really fall flat for me. Haven't handled the SS11 blistered lamb, but I was told it is nice as well.

the SLP looks great in person, when worn by someone other than me. I tried it on and it was big guy/little coat something serious.

There are lots of nice RO leathers from more recent seasons. They vary a lot though, best to check out in person first.
