I currently own a Tommy Hilfiger brown leather motorcycle jacket. The leather is pretty soft and supple, which is not bad for a $200 jacket. The leather seems to be of good quality.
I just ordered a new bottle of Obenauf's Leather Oil to rework some of my leather goods and I'm curious as to how the jacket is going to take to it. My only complaint thus far is that the snap fasteners aren't as sturdy as I'd like. I'm constantly rebuttoning my sleeves and I have to rebutton my epaulet whenever I take off my backpack, messenger bag, or gig bag. One day I'll take it to the leather tailor to replace everything with YKK equivalents.
I used to own a Nate's Leather Chicago Police Dept. jacket that I had beaten all to hell. Great heavyweight leather that stood up to anything. Unfortunately, I needed some money and some creepy guy with a fetish for beat up leather offered to buy it from me for a grand and I sold it. Far more than the jacket costs new, but I still regret it. I plan on owning another one day.
