Yeah, found and combed through that thread after posting. Any decent leather out there in $500-600 range?

proper length for a leather jacket?

I am planning to get a TOJ DR or Moto style jacket, having trouble deciding on the front length. should the jacket for shorter than your belt, end right at the bottom of the belt, or go past that? and by how much? i was thinking i should get it just covering my belt, but i am not sure if that will be the correct length for a DR or Moto style jacket. but i don't want it to be too trendy i prefer something i can wear for years to come.

Both rider style jackets end at your hip. They are motorcycle-inspired so if wanted an 'authentic' look you would see what length would work whilst you were riding a bike. TBH it really doesn't matter that much because unless you have proportions beyond the 95% confidence interval around the mean the standard size is going to be ok for you.

can you post a picture of a proper fitting (for front length) jacket on a person?

edit, i did a search for leather jacket lengths and came across this site, most of the pics show the jacket ending at the mid belt level, so around half the vertical hieght of the belt showing.

not sure about the site either, but they had a lot of jacket fit pics so i linked it.

what is the trend for sizing nowadays for leather jackets, so i know what to avoid. and what is considered classic?

How do you all size your jackets? Does leather typically stretch over time, and by how much?...what I'm getting at is, do you usually look for the perfect fit, or do you go smaller?
