I haven't really bought many clothes recently due to nonsense medical drama and other hobbies diverting funds, but I did pick up some Obscur because... I'm not quite sure. I suppose because I never really went through the goth "nobody UNDERSTANDS me" phase when I was 15 and I feel like I've missed out on the rich texture of that vibrant culture. Mostly cut&sewn basics, but there were two leathers.
Lambskin shirt with minimalist collar and split elbows:
It sounds kind of blasé, but I rather feel that a leather shirt is a leather shirt above a certain price/quality point. I've handled some of the classic MA+/Carpe Diem shirts and this appears about on par. Solid construction throughout and I really wouldn't hesitate to casually machine wash it.
Asymmetric high neck in calf with split elbows and cotton lining throughout:
The jutneck is exactly as ridiculous as it seems:
The calf is not quite as solid as something sourced from Guidi and the stitching not quite as ornate as oldschool Julius, which sounds damning, but it's actually remarkably close on both counts and given the lower retail I'm fine with it. Fit is decent, though for an xs it's still pretty loose around the midsection.
It also has double-layered extended raw cotton lining from neck to hem so it's basically like walking around in a blanket. I keep falling asleep while standing up in it.
No regrets, though it's probably the silliest jacket I own and as with most gothninja stuff I kind of like the idea of it more than the wearing of it.
Also apologies for the shitty phone camera. My DSLR is playing alimony with an ex-gf.Edited by modalsaliency - 8/31/11 at 2:20am
