Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 279

That woman looks ridiculous but doesn't have anything to do with her age. If she were

(1) MILF and
(2) styled the jacket right, meaning no momwash jeans or mom hair, and
(3) were not standing in the middle of a room filled with KMart/Martha Stewart collection garbage (this is actually the most repellant part of the pic, I can't be in a room like that ever).

...then she might stand a chance. So basically if everything about the pic were different but the jacket, then win.icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

okay I am being a goof but seriously I don't see why someone who is 50 cannot wear Rick and look good in it -- Rick does -- they just have to style it properly, as with anything.

I don't even think the jacket looks that bad on her, I mean, it's a black leather jacket with ribbed inserts, not too hard to pull off
Sure the mom jeans (true religion? maybe?) kinda kill it and the room is atrocious, but I've seen worse shopping at Nordstroms.

Not to belabor the point, but that lady definitely cares about her surroundings. That there is an antique spindle, the statue is not something you find at Walmart - it looks like it was from the late 19th century (or at least made to look that way), and the dresser is definitely something older that was painted deliberately, and maybe repurposed. The laps are terrible though, but you can't get that at Walmart. Everything from Walmart/Kmart fits one of 2 categories - yet old comfy and practical upholstery (think a doctors office, but fully upholstered and in even more practical fabrics), or Ikea style minimalism, but with a nice blond or rosewood finish. If you go up a rung to Target, you'll see a lot of stuff that is inspired by Art Nouveau and Deco.

after

as you can see, the finish is a lot more matte, and drapes totally differently

I have no investment in Rick. I don't know or don't care about disgracing the brand, I just think that looks totally bizarre.

lol this thread is so ironic.... looking through the WAYWT I don't think some of you should be making comments on the styling of Rick

anything from 1/4 inch to 1/2, but it all depends if the leather was washed/distresed beforehand, some of my jackets havent shrunk at all.

The good thing is that i have the option of wet stretching the sleeves, which i have done a few times and added 3/4 inch. Other times i want the whole jacket to shrink, thats when i throw it in the dryer and it shrunk quite a bit

basically every jacket i own i have washed, except one...that one was made with a soft, buttery leather, and had a luxurious sheen to it, looked good as is

That picture was enough to bounce me off the RO 'aspiration' train for at least a few months. . .
