Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 240

Hi guys

Anyone have some more information about this Rick Owens right here:

http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk...light=intarsia

The color is some kind of dust - and the seller says its from FW10. If anyone got more fit pictures or know where its possible to pick up I would be grateful

I like the color purple, and i would really like to have a purple leather jacket like this:

I like the color; it reminds me of taffy. I don't dig the braiding though.

They're on sale right now (200,000 yen down from 300,000 or so) as well. I tried on CCP right after and the leather felt like junk compared to them

Backlash and Incarnation are two of the best leather labels in the world. Period. No ifs, ands, or buts. I wish people were more on that bandwagon. RO leathers suck the biggest ass compared to them, on materials and manufacture alone.

Your hate for RO runs deep.

If these brands were easily accessible and not vastly overpriced in the U.S., then it might be more common here than RO. Even sizing is a complete mystery to most here with those brands.

In the end, I am not sure why RO gets so much hate? It been going on a pretty deep discount as of late which makes it more reasonable for the quality you get and out there, the look is still more wearable than say Julius or even from what I've seen from Incarnation, mainly because of the distressed/washed look offered in most of their leathers.

incarnation is some ugly dung

It is true, tried on some RO´s and they felt cheap compared to the Incarnations I tried. However, I actually planned to buy an Incarnation jacket but it looked totally gay on me. I think I have to move away from avant-garde style... PS: Incarnation XL = 48 (atleast I tried XL and I am a 48)

yah, you might end up looking gay.

the horror

I don't really get the love for the Incarnation, RO etc stuff. Based on this thread most of it looks like plain rumpled leather in the shape of a jacket. Several thousand for a jacket that doesn't seem to have any sort of detailing or striking features. Not to mention the Intarsia brand has nothing do with intarsia anyway.

Intarsia is a model of jacket by Rick Owens, not a brand

And just because you don't have an eye for detail does not mean those details aren't there.

Re: RO quality vs Incarnation et al, well nobody is buying RO leather for the artisan manufacturing here. If you have the right styling you can basically charge what you want regardless of quality.

People always say Julius is unwearable, but I dont find it true any more than ro is really. Most models really aren't as crazy as people think, at least nobody's said anything like that about mine irl. They can go by pretty understated IMO.

I think ROs more wearable but I never said Julius is unwearable. I don't think high collar is understated at all. It's one of Julius' simpler jackets but these days the jackets are pretty busy with stitching, paneling and zippers. Most leathers are also washed, sometimes a simple smooth leather is better. Julius needs to release more of leathers like Snakes grey moto.
