Nice russet color horsehide Aero at $300 on ebay with a few days left and free shipping for someone with the right measurements.

what's nice about that, serious question i'm sure the leather is awesome but the design is so bland

^ that would look nice on an endomorphic mesomorph (a class of somatotypes).

For me, the material, the color, the construction the company is known for, and the price.

And the basic sillouette - I like simple designs, the bland ones. The leather showcases itself - I don't need bells and whistles, and experimental stuff.

Well with a cut like that why don't you just buy some really nice piece of leather and wrap it around yourself like a toga?

Because, dummy, then that would be a leather toga not a leather jacket.

I'm just saying that "letting the leather speak for itself" without regard to design or cut is ... frankly, ridiculous. Materials are only one element of a piece of clothing.

The point being, in his view they are the most important element. In your view they are probably the least.

I personally don't like Moulton collars, but otherwise I don't think the design needs to be any less or more. As for cut, well, obviously it's not mine, if it was it would be cut to my specifications.

what's ridiculous is that saying a moulton collar, a half belt, hidden storm cuffs, alpaca wool lining, etc. is designless, has no elements, and tantamount to a blank peice of leather. It may not be enough, or the right kind of elements for you, but it is just the right amount of elements for some. Why is this even a conversation? Obviously this jacket, and the Highwayman that started this thread is not like that torn up black jacket above, and it's good they are not. Apples and oranges, but all in the same thread...
