Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 116

Also shearling isn't a "fabric", it's a leather. And the last sentence is a fucking train wreck. And this writing is supposed to trick people into buying 1800 pounds of lackluster design, let's not forget.

What is lackluster about it?

Well, again, it's an 1800 pound shearling jacket. The color of the skin is really good, and then they totally fuck it up with -

- the angle of the pockets
- the angle of the zip closure, especially the narrow-ish lapels that don't fall well (at least to my eye).
- small lapels and lack of protruding shearling under the cuffs and waist create a shearling jacket that doesn't show much actual shearling.

and of course
- the half-ass epaulets

It's a fine jacket, but for over 2000 dollars I expect better. Shearling is great for evoking luxury and aristocracy (expense and comfort of the material, as well as the rich textures and subtle bulk) - why throw all that away?

Still think this Junya x Vanson perfecto is my favorite leather ever. Thinking of getting a mtm copy once I can afford one since I'll never find it

Nice jackets! Does anyone have suggestions on a slim fitting A2 bomber styled jacket? (the brown leather ones). Or perhaps one without the elastic cuffs...

That Junya x Vanson leather is good. What differentiates it from a regular rider style jacket?
i think it's cut a bit slimmer than your usual vanson.

That is the alternate style that they didn't remake after the original season. The one with the coin pocket/3 pocket front is the more common one that you can find more easily, and is more desirable IMO, but the last two years of leather quality has been crap for the price ($2K)

I'm sure you can find enough Vanson customization options given by Vanson to either duplicate it, or get pretty close.

Competition weight cowhide, only about $250 extra for full mtm and considerable customization - nothing beats Vanson in the $500 - $800 range.
