Please tell me we aren't slapping Temple of Jawnz and Falcon alongside RO/Julius/Balmain for leather. Design? Maybe. Biker design is pretty popular, though I would note RO's various collar styles are pretty unique (Mollino, Bauhaus, high-neck Intarsia) and Julius at least until some years ago had some very interesting leather treatments and seaming, which set both of them apart.
I agree it's not worth paying $1,000 for any leather jacket unless it is genuinely some bespoke, top-tier designer stuff. Still, shearling leather can reach pretty close.
The Balmain biker is pretty iconic and I'd be willing to pay around $800 for it.
Re: RO. Their leather jackets can be pretty versatile and definitely don't demand a full-goth outfit to work. Yeah, Stooges arms are long as are most of the jackets', but in terms of design it's probably the most minimal and slimmest of its kind out there. Saint Laurent's riders are a good option too
Just did. Seriously, that jacket is nothing special and I am confident that anyone can find a similar and cheaper jacket that they would be happy with. $1000 for a black double rider? lol
