Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 111

The colored leathers (like nicelynice's red one) are probably done in a vegetable-tanned nappa from Italy and that stuff is hard and thin; the staple black lambskins they use are thick (3oz or more) and proabbly from NZ/Australia/France. As far as detailing, construction, materials go, Julius > RO, easily. Whether the style will stay, that is a different question, but on technical points, they are good. I am not impressed by Rick leathers when I see them (and that is every season) - they have lesser quality zips in the RY's, I prefer the nice slick cupro in the Julius to the cotton RO linings, and the leather Rick uses is more hit or miss than Julius, as far as I have seen.

^yeah, ro leather is nothing special save for the oiled calf which is heavy. ccp leathers from 06 to 08 are like armor, seriously some of the thickest stuff i have ever seen.

Julius has always been more about cut and tailoring than materials quality. Basically the opposite of wjk/jun hashimoto. It also varies a lot season to season, though. I bought the reverse steer jacket from the midwinter FW10 update (327Blm100) and it's actually the first suede that I've ever felt I didn't have to baby. It's substantial, wherever they sourced it from. RO leather is really crappy, to whoever said it was better. I can't speak authoritatively as to Carol as I'm one of those sad people who doesn't "get" CCP, but I did get to wear an overlock once for a bit and it was very heavy-duty.

this is exactly one or two sizes too small for you

Tight, yes. But it's how most Julius leathers are meant to fit, like second skin.

from the looks of it, he's sucking his belly in, and it is too small on him, you can tell from the intense pulling in the pits.

Found this Faktor's leather Horse hide jacket with removable fur collar, on yahoo auction...looks like pure sex.

Anyone has more info on the brand ? It is Italian...that's all I know.

Agree with the above mentioned, CCP has probably the best leather quality alone I've handled, but ro and julius are more about cut/fit and details rather than actual leather quality, tbh I've seen better leather on several other lesser known brands than ro or _7. And that jacket in the fit pic is def too small, even the sleeve looks kinda short for the julius fit imho.

tellin ya, ro oiled leather and leather from 06-07/08 are really pretty great. hammered leathers are paper thin and look like plastic

how do you tell if a cow will yield high quality leather? i really want to have the best leather jacket possible so i think im gonna buy a cow, kill it/sell the meat, and then make a couple leathers with the skin. itll be less than a CCP, and if i pick the right cow it will have better leather.

hes so dreamy I find ToJ rather simplistic, but that's just because I'm all about the look it provides. All things considered though Julius is leagues better.
