The colored leathers (like nicelynice's red one) are probably done in a vegetable-tanned nappa from Italy and that stuff is hard and thin; the staple black lambskins they use are thick (3oz or more) and proabbly from NZ/Australia/France. As far as detailing, construction, materials go, Julius > RO, easily. Whether the style will stay, that is a different question, but on technical points, they are good. I am not impressed by Rick leathers when I see them (and that is every season) - they have lesser quality zips in the RY's, I prefer the nice slick cupro in the Julius to the cotton RO linings, and the leather Rick uses is more hit or miss than Julius, as far as I have seen.
