Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 1071

Spence just posted a bunch of Margiela leathers. Three different kinds of 5-zips, all available in 48 and 50, plus a smattering of other sizes. Prices aren't great yet, but if they stick around, they might get good.

They also posted this four-pocket Margiela leather, which I haven't seen before but really like. The cut through the body looks wonderful:

Even the leather looks nice, which I know isn't always a given for MM...

That style was around last year, but this one looks a lot slimmer than the one I posted here, and the one currently up on Atelier's site.

Be careful with sleeve measurements on that piece, as it is very long the last time I checked.

so there is 3 MMM 5 zip jackets on spence, which is the 5zip to have? Does padded mean it has thicker lining?

Seems all 3 are lamb/sheep leather. The other padded one has gold zips with red outlines. confused.gif

Looks like the size 50 in the style I wanted is old out :( I guess my search continues...

Black lamb ones can be regularly found for like $1000-1250 ish. Either end-of-season sales or on eBay.

I am pretty sure that black one with silver hardware is in calf. It looks like the same version as I have.

Why are lamb 5 zips looked upon so poorly?
No idea, no complaints with mine. And it's one of the "less desirable" coated versions. I've also owned calf ones, YMMV.

I am not sure they are...

I don't think they are. I've owned both calf and lambskin versions and prefer the lamb. I find the softer material gives the jacket a rounder, more casual shoulder line, whereas calf can be kind of boxy.

I think lamb is more practical in general for jackets unless you actually ride in them.

Definitely depends on the look you want, for a more rugged look you wouldnt want lamb

whats nice about this thread is that no matter what at the end of the day we always end up talking about 5 zips
