Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 1058

Here is one I own. My pop gave it to me after it gathered some dust in his closet. Don't know the maker. I had a tailor trim the sides and the sleeves and put new lining in (had a cheesy off white with a map/old globe style pattern and changed to simple brown with some diamonds interspersed pattern).

It is HEAVY, which I like. Also like the color and design. Fit is pretty good, would like to take a little more off the back of the shoulders, but I don't think it is do-able.

Can anyone point me to the brand of / models similar to / the type of leather this guy wears, if it's leather at all? Liking the thin, coated look.

Indeed.  I wonder whether the "Look Goes On" guys would be interested.

Really like the laceing - which I'm guessing Hedi (or whoever) pulled from somewhere else - on this SLP. Is there some other jacket maker using laced sides like this?

Schott makes a few. The 525 is probably the most similar to that

Good call. I've never cared for Schotts - the fit just never looks right (I probably lean more towards fashion than authenticity here) - but it's worth looking into.

Good to know. The pics on the UO site dont give off the same leather daddy vibes Schotts usually do.

This is a standard feature on almost all original motorcycle jackets. Vanson, Langlitz, Cal-Leathers, Schott, etc...

This shearling 5 zip has a women's tag, but is listed as size 50. What's the difference between men's and women's version of these jackets?

Zipper and collar are on the proper side, so I assume it's men's no? Might as well wing it at that price and see how it works.

Weird about the woman's tag though.
