Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 1013

Do you guys feel like your leathers fit really differently when you have a layer (like a thick knit) underneath compared to just tee? Just got a used MM 5-zip off grailed. Fit is perfect with a chunky knit underneath but feels off with just a tee. When I wear a knit it feels snug and the creasing on the arms looks good, but when I wear a tee there is much more room in the arms the creasing just kind of falls flat. I know its a bit obvious because of the layers but do you guys feel the same or just go with it?

Great question. I think a MMM 5-zip should fit perfect w/ a t-shirt more so than with a knitwear beneath. Are you envisioning it more of a fall/winter type of item, or spring/summer? Any climate conditions in your region?

Does anyone have experience with Dior Homme leathers? I saw this piece on their runway show and thought it looked promising, but could use some insights.

I have 2 5-zips, one fits better with a tee underneath, the other fits better with a thin knit under. Same size, several seasons apart, different leathers. I use them differently.

I don't own any DH leathers, but all the pieces I've looked at in the boutiques have been pretty nice, even if the patterns didn't necessarily always fit me.

I have a RO cotton intarsia so that is my SS alternative. I'm just surprised the same piece of clothing can feel and look so different. I have a Blk Dnm DR with quilted lining and I think the lining makes it feel much more consistent in either a tee or knit.

I agree though, fit with tees should be priority with moto and DRs. Might consider taking in the arms a bit in the future I guess.

MMM 5-zip fit changes over seasons, evolved to more of a modern slim-fit (which I personally don't like). Embrace the versatility of it, if it's still quite stiff it'll also start to loosen and feel better over a tee. If you want to wear it over just a t-shirt and have it hug the body, buy one from a recent season.

Just got the latest iteration of the Luxire x Styleforum leather double rider, and I'm pretty satisfied with the fit.  I feel that the body could be taken in maybe 1" for a "perfect fit", but I feel that for smaller sizes, that might result in too much of a V shape when it's graded.  And it's a lot easier to take in a body than to let it out.

own one from 06 and one from 10. both are well made, and with the time gap between the 2, i guess you could say consistent? they are both eu46 and fit true to size. the cut on both are slightly boxier, which i guess is quite faithful to diors silhouette, minus the smaller sizes (eu44 and less) which are supposedly cut more slim.

Pics?

Also how many leathers do you own? Seems like you keep grabbing leather jackets.

Nice to see this project coming along. I haven't checked on that in a while; are we closer now to an official launch?

Yes, really close.  I need to get some fit shots done.  The "measure yourself" pictures from luxire are all done.  We have to figure out a workable price, agree on lead times (each garment is MTM), etc...

Cheers,

Fok.

Yes, thats why you need different jackets for different seasons. Some for layering underneath, other for just a T underneath.

Definitely looking forward to seeing the Luxire leathers

Hey leather experts - just got a leather jacket that fits quite well and its on the low end but it fits me well.

Anything I should do before wearing it? Should I apply a conditioner to it while new?
