Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 1009

I am absolutely loving the Schott NYC 569 Retro Car Coat.  Just awesome coat and weighs a ton.  Do wish it was a size smaller, but Orvis had it for $450 and it was too good of a deal to pass up.  At least this way I can easily wear my SNS Herning Stark under it.

I have also been digging the Band of Outsiders Hooded Anorak I purchased from Barneys a while back.  Don't love the cord tie at the bottom, but the construction is aces and being Sheepskin could not be more comfortable.

What do you guys think of the difference between the Vanson Z150 vs Competition weight leather? Or just about Vanson leather quality in general... I just ordered the Vanson derby (basically the Junya collaboration) with the daredevil fit which I think is a bit more slim fitting.

So I am selling my Incarnation jacket below and need a slightly larger replacement. Any suggestions for something similar in style>?

That leather is lighter.  I don't remember which the "midweight" leather was flatter, and which had more grain, but both are pretty nice.  The comp weight leather looks gorgeous aged, but it's quite heavy, and does take a while to get used to if you've been wearing fashion leathers.

I am leaning towards the competition weight because I've heard it's higher quality in general. I also like the feel of breaking things in (like heavy denim, leather boots).

Comp weight takes some effort but the upside is that it's practically bullet proof so you can do whatever you want to it in order to break it in. The results are worth it once it softens up a bit. (Softens being a relative term here)

Yeah, I've seen a few in person. Bad quality but they're real leather.
