I'm sorely tempted to get an electric blue MA1 from Falcon. I've had a ToJ one for a couple years and it always gets compliments from people.

If you want to get a "better deal", and specifically want a moto or double rider style - and we'll have a range of colored leather as well - you could wait for Luxire, but we are still sampling jackets, leathers, trims, etc...
has pricing for the jackets/options been determined?

The prices will be $825-850 for MTM, all options/details the same price.  One thing that we may offer, but not upon launch, are "brand name" leathers and trims.  Those would increase the base price, though how much remains to be determined, and will determine on the difficulty of obtaining the materials of keeping them in stock.  For the time being, we have commissioning special leathers for the project.  The calf, a lightly glazed version with a fine grain, we are happy with.  The lamb we are still working on.

There will be an introductory discount and also a discount for those with outstanding ToJ orders who want to actually get a leather jacket.  Of course. the discounts will not be offered in perpetuity.

Thurston decided to no longer stay as an affiliate.  All former affiliate threads are locked and moved to the former affiliate vendors forum, where members can still access information, but where they can no longer benefit from Styleforum's strong SEO.

so will they stop selling the daredevil?

In my opinion, I don't think so. I know it was a collab but the pattern is already made.

I see. So I'm guessing any product inquiry I have for them through pm can't be answered? In that case I guess I'll just email them.

Do this experiment.  Take a jacket, and put int on a good wooden hanger with contoured shoulders.  The shoulders are filled out, and the jacket falls nice and clean on the sides.  Now, take the same jacket, and put it on a bent wire hanger.  because the shoulders are now "dragged down", there is excess material under the armpits and through the front.  No matter how small you make the jacket in the chest, you will still get the same bunching.  This has little do do with the pockets, and is nearly entirely an issue with the fit through the shoulders.  If you get the fit of the shoulders correct, nearly everything else can be  made to look good.

Some guys (like @Synthese, have good shoulders - angular, but not exaggeratedly square or wide (which also presents fit issues).  This is the main reason stuff looks good on him, even if sized up or sized down.  For those without as good genetics, myself included, have to be a bit more careful.  Incidentally, this has nearly nothing to do with how muscular your shoulders are, at least not for tailored garments. In fact, having built up deltoids (I'm in between - I had pronounced delts, but with my lack of lifting these days, considerably less), gives you more slopped shoulders - what's commonly called "boxer's shoulders".

Oo, I see thanks for the explanation I dig that also... I did that on my rather thin 0.7-0.9mm goat last time, and accidentally overdid it by the guy who made them for me (even exaggerated by adding a little curve following rear neck curve)

it crumbled down in few months of use creating interesting looking creases like this, because the position on the bike requires me to stick my head back thus pressing against the raised neck/ shoulder, and honestly I have no muscle to fill them underneath, I use the zippers of my removable liners to help act like a pair of springs to bounce them back up, but since the zips are plastic and small they don't do much.

was not planned to be honest... but it's unique, and I love it.. has armadillo kind of look

not everyone's cup of tea I bet, but I like it :D

but honestly it doesn't help with creasing along the torso in my case, I have the armpit extremely high and snug, I have them chest extra snug, I have some darts made but that creases below the pocket still present ( I never see it as problem since most broken in CR has that look) but somehow in my experience with this jacket, it was not the remedy of that, probably has to do with the leather too, this leather is thin and the lining is also very simple, probably if I have a paded/ quilted liner underneath it would look straighter...

about the jacket look nice and flat on a proper shape hanger compared to cheap hanger, I can understand that, it like comparing the look of neutral pose VS shrugged shoulder pose.

However you need to take into consideration that no matter how good the hanger, it is still a 2 dimensional plane,

once the jacket is worn on a body with thickness to it, more problem with people who excercise their pecs so they are even more thicker, then the whole shape would mess up, getting pulled here and there especially under the arm thus creating that creases when the jacket worn open. People who has thin profile (almost flat from the side) has less of this problem because the jacket rest like how it looks on a hanger.

Does anyone own a Schott Perfecto 519?  I've been on the fence on which leather jacket to buy.  I initially was set on the Lewis Leather Cyclone but the price tag is a bit too much for me.  I recently saw a post by Schott about their 519 fit which is suppose to be slimmer.  any opinions on this fit?

Goat is particularly and notoriously stretchy.

yeah, I got elbow bag, and some vertical stretch marks here and there along the sleeves... the lining is more snug than the leather shell in that one to limit stretching the leather too easily.. true

I didn't know that prior, but I guess the shop where I have it made knew. :blush:but I have worn the jacket without the liner couple of time, probably it stretched then.

Cool challenge idea, Willy. Keen to see some of the rarer, high-end leathers people talk about in this thread included in submissions.

This jacket was made by Thedi Leathers for Epaulet. I really love the style but have a question about the design.Specifically the zipper doesn't quite make it to the bottom of the jacket. Is this design for style or does it have a functional advantage? I noticed most of the Aero Racers have zippers that go all the way to the bottom of the jacket.
Can someone give me some insight?
