Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 962

Yeah, I tried it on, and it's.... better than I thought. Still not something I'd personally wear, but the right dude could pull it off. Considering the first jacket in the second leather - the horse is amazing. I've never seen such a great leather being used on a jacket before

Edit: Being Brad Pitt helps too, here's an older model

Wasn't there a purple leather one last year at lift? I really really liked that model. Was way out of my budget then though haha

The first one is actually purple, just subtly so

The brown reversed calf version (http://www.styleforum.net/t/71625/leather-jackets-post-pictures-of-the-best-youve-seen-owned/14280#post_8020587). Yeah, I agree that it looks better with just a tee or a regular henley (as I am wearing in those pics) and unzipped. However, it gets real tight when I wear something thicker underneath, which basically makes me think of the suede one as a late spring to early fall jacket. Its not that comfortable to wear zipped up either. It's also a lot softer than the regular calf version, which adds to the difference in drape. The suede one also has a lot smaller hip measurement, which makes it get caught some on my hips and not fall cleanly.

Interestingly enough, the suede version, even though being a size 48, only has about 0.5 cm smaller P2P measurement compared to the black calf on which is a size 52. Go figure! In the shoulders (seam to seam) however, they differ approx 1.5 cm.

I'll have to take a closer look while trying on the jacket again tomorrow, but I do think this is caused by me having a rather large chest for my build, in combination with the stiffness of the leather. Maybe my dropped shoulder has something to with it too, as you said. When wearing a sweatshirt underneath I can actually feel the front of the jacket pressing against most of my frontal chest area and some in the corresponding area in the back, so I am pretty sure it fits ok in the chest.

Dude, IMO, the jacket looks great. Perfect even. The leather should settle and drape better against your body after a bit. There is a certain attractive quality about clothing (especially jackets) that fit great, but not perfect. Feels more natural.

Thanks man!  Maybe this whole nitpicking and obsessing comes from hanging around in CM for too long. In CM, analysis of fit can get very, very detailed and sometimes way too technical.

^lol at those poses
it would be a lot easier to assess the fit if you took a photo standing straight and forward
