Sorry for clogging up the thread with yet another 5-Zip fit question. This will be the last time, I promise. It's just that when you've handled a few garments that are very similar to each other, you kind of loose perspective and often miss the little things. At least I do. So I need some fresh eyes on this.

I am still trying to find the combination of cut and leather with the 5-Zip that flatters me the most. This time it's last seasons model in calf that is up for consideration. As people have noted earlier in this thread, its slimmer than earlier season's versions so I actually sized up on this one to get a more classic 5-Zip fit. But what do you guys think, did I size up too large? Does it look too big? Keep in mind that this jacket is brand new and so haven't broken in yet. So being made out of calf, I assume that some areas will get more close fitting with time (sleeves, shoulders etc).

Thanks again for all your kind help and thoughts.

Personally I think this version looks better on me compared to the lamb one I posted a while back. But I still feel a bit unsure. Or confused, I don't know. smile.gif

Sooo, anyone else want to put their 2 cents in? :lurk:

Every single 5 zip you posted fits well. I think the calf looks better zipped, but that's because it's more structured. Personally, I think the lamb looks better unzipped.

I like the calf better than the lamb, but I'm not a fan of lamb jackets. The fit appears to be excellent.

The calf positively looks better on you than the lamb. The lamb is too short, particularly the sleeves, although it's not that noticeable until you see it next to the calf which is a great fit. Now maybe if you sized up on the lamb it would be better, because my impression of the 5 zip is that it typically looks better in lamb because buttery leather just goes better with a fashion jacket like that. But the calf does look great and after it breaks in should look even better, although you might prefer it a little smaller now so that it will stretch to perfection but it looks pretty solid right now.

Calf 5-zip looking good. assuming the facial expression you have while wearing it out isn't of overthinking things.

How does this suede look? I'm having a terrible time getting pics of the black suede. On a strange note, I'm in love with the smell.

not sure why, but black suede never really looks good to me.

Calf 5-zip looks good. Fits your age for being a 30 something year old

I think the fit is good. It's something that's not discussed much on this board but the smell of new leather... even if it's chrome tanned, I'm addicted to it.

I think for the same reason that black suede is hard to photograph, most of the time it just doesn't look as special as a suede in a shade of brown. It can look flat to the eye and to the camera.

yeah, looks better when well worn / old. lots of creases and the suede brushed in different directions.

One thing we've been surprised at is that few talk about how good the new Veg.-Tanned Vicenza Horsehide smells (we absolutely love it!)...however, we always get raves about the smell of Horween's CXL Steerhide and Horsehide...

We need smell-o-vision!  ;)
