This was a personal favorite, probably one of the Nicest jackets POLO ever put out. Polo country is a precursor to RRL, if your not familiar. I suppose there was a reason I found this on the ground at a flea market for 10$ too. satisfied.gif not to mention I sold this for a tidy sum after i got tired of wearing it. All those jackets above are Long gone besides 2. Thats maybe a third of decent leathers i touched. I sold the sears horsehide jacket for 750$ to a personal trainer guy who works with a couple of the Chargers, The Levi's stuff went for 800$ together to a japan buyer in LA. I got polo Lambskin jackets in every color that came out, Ill post a pic when i dig em out, i got purple, green, black, brown in three shades, gray, burgundy, I still don't know if they ever came in white or navy but im looking out for those too.

The oldest is the beat up Front quarter horsehide jacket from the 1940's. The other motorcycle jacket was a SEARS and was 1950's. The flight jacket's are fairly common and from the 60's and 70's but they are made of goatskin and have demand out here. The harley stuff was 80's levis stuff was BIG E so 1950-60 or so. I had exact dates when I found em and researched but it all fails me until I see another pair, all the sudden I remember lol

Echoing what everyone else has said...I actually started an order after Carrie sent pictures of your jacket through PM.  I was pretty bummed when the the Vanson x TB moto didn't go through, but that jacket looks great!

Re: brown jackets, I always kind of thought a repro-brown poell highneck (scarstitch too, probs) would look really...cool. Not exactly the poell standard, more like The Rocketeer/ creepy western doctors and snake oil salesmen.

That board racer looks fantastic. Very jealous.

Post some pics when you get it. I sent them the Vanson/Junya zip layout when I made my order and they said it was doable. When I saw the final pics of the jacket, it wasn't that pronounced X layout, but pretty close. Overall I'm happy with how it turned out. It seems that Aero can do a number of customizations as I took the standard model and modified the front panel zips, back panel, and collar. Perhaps if people like the mid-sleeve zip of the Junya they can make it happen, but I don't know for sure.

Distorbiant my fellow TOJ sufferer! I'd be happy to answer any question that you may have, due to the entertainment you've provided me in the past. You've grown up before my very eyes and I sincerely hope your suffering makes you stronger, as it has done for me. I was confused as to the process from just reading around, so I'll break it down for others who are wondering:

1. Pay $1099 standard model cost via Paypal

2. Fit jacket shipped to you free w/several leather samples to see, feel, touch, enjoy. If you like the fit jacket, you can keep it. No more money changes hands.

3. You have to pay shipping back to Thurston - so my heavy steerhide was like 8 lbs back from LA to Seattle, don't remember the cost - let's say under $20.

4. Jacket w/many modifications from standard took only 1.5 months - much different from TOJ, I know...

5. Jacket was notified to me as ready. I had an outstanding balance as I'd made upgrades from standard.

-Upgrade 1: Italian Vicenza Front Quarter Horsehide. $125

          -Upgrade 2: Interior Pocket: $40

6. Pay outstanding balance of $165.

7. Receive jacket via UPS in less than a week.

Total Cost: $1264 + approx $20 shipping back in step 3

Yes, more than the bargain basement price of TOJ, but in the end, you get a higher quality garment. Like... you actually get to touch it and wear it... :)

Disclaimer - these were my prices, and perhaps they'd be subject to change at Aero's or Thurston Bros' discretion.

I liked this brown visvim leather, sold it because the belt was a bit obnoxious, though

I will, just sent the fit jacket back so it should be about 1.5-2 months.  The only thing I requested different than your jacket is an exposed front zipper - not sure if it's available or not as I just sent the note to Carrie today.  I may be explaining it incorrectly but more similar to this with nickel zips and hardware.
