Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 942

The general consensus around these parts is that you need to put down at least 1k to get a good leather. There are exceptions, but those are for the lucky, not the thrifty. As you can probably tell Styleforum is a place where people don't think twice about dropping serious dough on clothes. If that's what you want to do (and can afford to do) then hang around and lurk for a while before making a big purchase. However, if you just want a leather jacket within your budget SF won't be very helpful when comes to helping you choose between mall brands. Still, there's a lot you can learn just by reading up on threads like this one, like how a good jacket ought to fit, how to tell good leather from bad leather and that sort of thing. Most importantly it'll help you develop an eye for the kinds of things you like and the kinds of things you don't.

tl;dr lurk more, learn more.

Also, if you want most posters to take you seriously then capitalize the first letter in the first word of each of your sentences and do not abbreviate 'you' to 'u'.

Fit wise which is better, to have a jacket that's a good length at the torso and sleeves but too tight to zip up or one that you can zip up but may hang an inch or two below the waist?

I understand. Well, the jackets above were on sale, the first one was 4000kr and thats about 500$, but after sale it was 200-300$. Im not looking for something really expensive but a good looking jacket with a nice fit and the jackets above almost meet my requirements. With that said, I would like to see some suggestions what you think are good leather jackets, regardless of the price.

What one thinks is a "good leather jacket" in terms of looks is just a question of taste. The best thing you can do is to read through this thread to see lots and lots of examples of what people here think are good jackets.

The cheapest good leather jackets imo are the ones H&M have started to put out pretty regularly, those are usually around 300$ but look way better than the ones you posted (just remember the good ones sell out pretty quick)

After that almost the only good option in the 300-700$ gap are Schotts, if the US/Europe ones aren't slim enough you can try getting a slimmer version from Japan via Rakuten/YJP. Other than that keep your eyes on ebay/grailed/b&s for deals.

Around 700-800$ it's not terribly hard to find nice enough jackets, there are tons of new brands who do simple but good-looking DRs around that range and you can find nicer stuff on sale or on ebay/grailed/b&s as mentioned above.

From 1000$ and up you have tons of brands, Lewis Leathers is probably one of the best and cheapest among those but I don't really have any other specific suggestions for that price-range simply because there are so many.

Roots doesn't get mentioned a lot but they have a moto that's on sale for $400 that's in your budget that I think looks pretty damn good

man what's the best price you can get a 5 zip these days? I remember in 2012 in the NYC margiela boutique I had a chance to get a burgundy one for $800, but instead I opted for a TOJ calfwhich i ended up selling . What a terrible mistake in not getting the margiela.

Now I want to make up for it with a 5 zip in black or navy or something classic. where to cop without the 3k drop?

I think it goes without saying that we should buy clothes that we could actually wear comfortably.

Bro none of the sizes fits you at all. If you gonna bulk then get something even bigger. You could do with another 10-15lbs of pure muscle mass! Enjoy

that jacket is awful so i'm willing to tell you neither fits if that's what it will take for you to return it

Just sharing a few good looking double riders over at Zozotown to those who didn't get their TOJ fix. Amazing what some of the smaller less-known Japanese brands are churning out nowadays.
