Yea, the navy one. I think it's a FW release, actually. Just early arrival.

Ok. I've not seen 5 zips with quilted linings before, even F/W versions. Is this something new? I for one prefer a leather jacket not to have any thick lining, since I much rather layer with other stuff underneath. It's more "fun" that way imo.

Yea, a brown cowhide one from a few seasons back.

No, but similar. Darker brown leather in smooth cowhide, rather than a tan, slightly distressed leather (from what I remember). Also no dangly zipper pulls. Mine's the same model, but just different materials. Made a season before that tan one you linked.

Anyone have experience?

I just had the lining on my vintage 618 replaced with a satin one to make it wearable where I live. It's a pretty easy process for my go-to guy. He just removed the lining pieces one by one, traced the shapes on satin fabric, and sewed it back on after tapering the poofy sleeves to my slim preferences. I'll post up a picture soon.

Edited with pic.

I just had a custom zip-out mouton liner and mouton collar made for my 80s Schott 125. The Schott custom dept is amazingly responsive and capable (though they didn't want to make me a custom liner out of glen check harris tweed, for some reason). Expecting it back in the next few weeks. Will share pics.

Yep I had a similar request in changing the liner with a satin liner similar to their Japanese 613USS model, but they told me they wouldn't do it. Even just requesting for the liner material was met with a no. I am assuming that they have to restore their jackets to 'stock' specs to avoid people selling them as expensive  'limited editions', one-offs, samples or 'special' defects perhaps.

Another 5 zip question. Do most people go with their regular size (tts) or do you normally size down or even up? I am mainly talking about the last couple of season's pieces.

Cheers.

I usually take a 36 or 38 in most things. Had to go with a 36 for the 5-zip.

Alright. Here are a couple of fit pics of the used 5 zip I just bought (calf leather). Any comments on fit? Would I better of sizing down? I think that a size down will make it too tight around the chest... This is the first ever cafe racer type jacket I've owned and the first 5 zip, so I feel a bit unsure about these things.

Please excuse the poor photo quality and never mind the Adidas sweat pants and general disorder in the background. Two small kids will do that to you. :censored:

More pics... (Click to show)

Edit: Please keep in mind that I am close to 35 years old, and I am not looking after any kind of "cyber goth ninja Rick Owens" kind of look or fit. :nest:

That's a perfect 5-zip fit, no way you could size down. Looks great!!
