It's essentially down to his crotch.

And the lack of the snap-back collar is demonstrated in the above pic with it just kind of flopping there. Maybe the jacket would look better on me? This is a very hard purchase... doesn't help that I'm very picky.... but I think roughly the belt line is going to be the sweet-spot for the length department, especially for a cafe racer style.

I've seen this jacket on another sf member and it's looks okay on them, but I cannot figure out for the life of me what Schott was thinking of when designing such a long jacket. The body is longer than the sleeves, it's honestly more of a coat. A lot of their more casual designs are getting better, but some of their older ventures into slim fitting jackets are a bit of a mess I think

completely agree, i like my jackets longer but that looks like a coat with that particular moto design.

On the bright side I think they're starting to figure out there's no reason to not make their Japanese slim fits available in the US. The details aren't necessarily perfect but it's still a cool jacket

Agreed! Not a fan of the length at all... :(

And it flares out at the bottom.... too bad considering its a light weight leather, and the pockets/detailing are spot on for what I'm looking for.

Sandro is decent quality. Aslo, Our Legacy has some nice inexpensive leathers.

Anyone ever take a quilted lining out of a leather jacket? I recently bought another 5-zip, but the quilted lining makes it only wearable in the winter time. Thinking about returning it if I can't have it successful altered.

Anyone have experience?

Certainly possible if you're willing to pay. I had the lining replaced on my Rick jacket for $300 + fabric cost by a leather jacket specialist and they did a better job than the original

Thanks. Do you think moving from a quilted to a non-quilted lining is problem though? I suppose this depends on a case-by-case basis, but I'm somewhat worried of how the fit will change when I have the quilted lining replaced with something plain.

I replaced the lining on a couple of jackets, got thick canvas replaced with viscose on a ncb leather for like 50 bucks, didnt change the shape much but felt just a tad more roomy and easier to get on-off which was what I was looking for, also got a viscose replaced with wool hb on one of my wife's leathers for like 100 bucks, then again I have a really good and cheap tailor so ymmv

edit:
whats up with that moto dww, anxious to see good pics of the eye line

Thanks for the info.

Still haven't received anything. I assume it's stuck in customs or something, but I haven't had time to follow up with them.

Which one did you get? The blue one off Mr Porter? I noticed that this version had quilted lining... Strange, since it was supposed to be a S/S piece.
