Only thing I don't like about the SLP jacket is how the studs look so numerous and heavy that they're pulling down the lapel, like Hedi went apeshit with a bedazzler. Also dunno how you'd pull it up when you're cold. Otherwise looks perfect? If you like it, wear the shit out of it.

i agree thats the only thing i don't like about the jacket otherwise its a classic rider but those studs kill it for me.

Just look at the damn thing. It's like something my fashionista cousin would buy if she could afford it.

Man, you are all over the map, here.  I guess I can pretend not to be insulted by the insinuation that I'm some nouveau riche (not rich) instagram kid that just buys whatever Kayne is wearing, and I'll assume that your fashionista cousin, although maybe a bit shallow from your description, isn't a completely hopeless case?

So, instead of abstract insults, do you actually have a criticism - you know, like, something specific?  Maybe something about the jacket?  I understand you don't like what neonrider (and perhaps myself) posted about the 5 zip, but at least we were making actual critiques, not just being a random dick.

You're right I was unnecessarily rude. Sorry for that. I thought it was silly for the other guy to categorize 5 zip buyers like that when the majority of SLP clientele are exactly "luxury newbies." I think your jacket is rad along with most other SLP leather offerings. I've got an older horse 5 zip and it's the great. Like others have said the fit is different between leathers. I bought mine true to size and it has a pretty significant drop and fits quite slim all around. And my cousin does look pretty ballin from time to time haha

what does everyone use on their leather jackets for conditioning? i have pecards leather lotion but wondeing if that would be best for my belstaff

If that insane Belstaff shearling had survived in my size to 50% off at Porter I might've kopped.

My calf 5zip has fairly close measurements to my TOJs (same pit, slightly wider at the bottom). I have a fairly steep drop, and I doubt I could find anything non MTM that will look better on me. It is slightly cropped and just has a nice structure, for lack of a better word. I will post a fit when the weather is nicer.

I never see much Belstaff discussion in here. Is it not very well liked?

It's a shame the only designers really focusing on designing leather outerwear as a key part of their brands are the goth ninja/artisanal ones. We don't need another interpretation of the double rider from every designer for the millionth time...

...I just mentioned Belstaff above. Is that not a totally different aesthetic?

I see what you mean, but they're not exactly a fashion brand doing anything that truly stands out. Sorta like how Rick Owens is fashion, and Fear of God isn't. That's not to say Belstaff is a ripoff brand like FoG, but there's nothing consistently about the brand that's appealing, to me at least.

Well, according to the reactions on this thread regarding the studs on my biker, maybe we do.

And, just to point out - SLP has made leather one of the key if not the key focus of their designs - Biker/SLP is pretty synonymous, now.

Whats the opinion in here on Blackmeans? I think they look nice enough barring the gaudy gold zippers that seem to be all over their designs.

It's just my opinion, but you got me there with SLP and biker jackets. Yang Li does some interesting jackets as well, but I have yet to see one that looks like something I would wear...his shoe game is on point though.

I do like the look of some of the designs, but I've never had the chance to try one on so don't know about fit, etc. or the leather quality in hand.  I will say that, just from the online pics I've seen, the bodies of jackets appear too boxy and the shoulders aren't always fitted correctly, but maybe that's an issue w/ the models/staging.

The gold zips don't bother me at all as long as they are well placed.
