too bad they renamed the brand and logo.
from YSL to Saint Laurent Paris. IMO the old logo is way better.


That's all fine and dandy, but they did it to bring exclusivity back to the brand. The market was flooded with fakes, and rappers and ghetto folks alike were rocking YSL t-shirts just because of the logo. In order to return to it's former glory, the label did some cleaning up from those who were previously able to access the label. I can guarantee the number of rappers and hoodrats repping saint laurent will be much less. This aura of exclusivity and prestige is what keeps high fashion alive. If you remove that mask, then it just becomes expensive designer garb. It was a good business move, despite what most people may think...
