Leather Jackets: Post Pictures of the Best You've Seen/Owned? - Page 792

checked out that blk dnm leather on saturday. leather is nice and pretty substantial. details are a little much though--decidedly rock and roll. fit was pretty slim--XL was the largest size they had and was still too slim through the chest/shoulders (I wear a 44 jacket).

tangentially, blk dnm down bomber was surprisingly nice in cut and materials--not worth it at retail, IMO, but prob pick it up if it ends up on sale

Funny that I just stumbled across this Blk Dnm discussion. I've been reading through this thread a ton recently trying to decide on a new jacket.

I ordered the 85 jacket in size S from them a few days ago, and I'm hoping the fit's on point.

I was able to try on one of their double riders in person, and the detailing made it a pass. Just a bit too over the top for what I was looking for. But when I saw the 85 jacket on their website, it blew me away. The jacket looks beautifully clean to my eyes, with a forearm pocket as its only unusual feature. It's pretty much my ideal jacket as far as design goes.

I have a Blk Dnm no 5 in navy. What are the details you're all complaining about? Other than the beaded zipper pulls (which can be removed) it's pretty much a standard double rider.

It is a fairly standard configuration, but that doesn't make it low-key. The epaulets, belt, shoulder gussets, and elbow stitching combined make the jacket pretty flavorful. Not a bad thing in itself, but it's not what I was looking for at the time.

The belt looks really weirdly low on the jacket, like it's right on the hem. Maybe that's just the camera angle though.

Goodness gracious.

I'm not a leather afficionado but my first instinct says 'nah, not feeling that jacket at all'. belt seems out of place, leather looks pleathery. I could be completely wrong here, but at least to me it looks sort of cheap. maybe just shit photography.

IMO, it doesn't work because of all the extreme negative space. It's almost like you're wearing a black leather shawl.

its just odd looking i'd pass on it

I don't know what you paid for it but IMO overall (as just an overall jacket in terms of fit) it does look good other than the sleeves aren't stacking very nicely, which sort of brings me to the second point of especially within this thread the quality of the leather itself is a pretty important factor to the overall quality and perceived niceness of a leather jacket, and the leather (at least from those pics) looks really insubstantial. But especially if you decide to shorten the sleeves to eliminate the stacking it looks good to wear out

okay yeah seeing all the pics that belt is just bizzare. I'd keep looking, sorry man

I'll give you the elbows but every other detail is standard fare for a double rider.
