The Aero Half Belts are a good option for a Fall jacket in Horsehide or Goatskin...

Learn more about Aero here:  http://www.styleforum.net/t/384450/insurrection-thurston-bros-aero-leather-jackets-north-america-official-affiliate-thread

Guys i am sure that aero is nice but it looks really boxy in the pic. I guess coupled with the model's baggy clothing it just doesn't give a good view of the jacket imo.

Clothsurgeon? I know Drew hates him. But daddy needs new MTM leathers y'all. Help

See below dude... @adroit compiled a good list.

Second, the listed manufacturers consistently deliver outstanding quality and workmanship.  The stitching and other details are first rate.

Third, the listed manufacturers use high quality, durable and interesting leathers.

I guess clothsurgeon if you want the ToJ aesthetic seeing as they're heavily based off theirs (that's a polite way to put it and I don't know the details I don't wanna accuse anyone of anything)

But if you want a mtm leather in general Schott, Vanson, and Lewis all offer mtm (it's an upcharge for Schott/Vanson, and comes standard with Lewis). Schott if you want the 2013DR perfecto look, Vanson if you want the MDR look (go check out the styleforum x vanson thread), Lewis if you want the DR 2010 look. IIRC Vanson won't make anything in lambskin. I think Schott will, don't know about Lewis.

They copied Drew. He's one of the original guys from House of Billiam right? No idea of their products, but they definitely let you salad bar whatever the fuck you please for better or worse (usually worse, people have no taste).

Also, to people in general who try to make fashion jackets at non-fashion jacket places: don't confuse MTM with pattern design.

Last time I posted this jacket here, it was gone within an hour or so. The same guy is selling a smaller size for a decent price.

As you are likely aware. Alexander was formed by several Aero refugees.  Alexander uses the same Horween leather as Aero.  I have no personal experience with Alexander's quality.

Thats a good point. It's taking sf a long time to work out the kinks in the vanson x sf slim fit rider thread. But it does seem like most companies have slim fit jackets that can be fashionable.

I do have to agree that you won't get a RO cut jacket at the MTM places.

Yeah I've been trawling through the ToJ thread just because there's a ton of great knowledge in there and seeing some of the fits from 2011/2012 I can see why they were so renowned, pumping this kinda stuff out in 3 - 5 weeks is nothing short of incredible. it's true even with SF x Vanson you just aren't going to get a fit like this

but you can still get a very awesome (imo) fit, I love really solid schott/vanson/lewis fits. but it is a different aesthetic for sure

What happened anyways..they were pumping out jackets in 2-3 month wait time..quality product.

Lack of artisans? Couldn't keep up w/ the increasing demand?

As I've gone through the first 250+ pages (50 replies a page) the last few weeks it really helps put the picture together. Around summer 2011 Drew had pointed out multiple times (in a very friendly manner he posted a ton back then) that he was at capacity, or at least in the sense that he didn't want any more orders than he was getting. He said he didn't want to do any interviews, he didn't really want people shouting from the mountaintops about ToJ, he wanted those that were in the know on SF to buy jackets as they please and that was basically it because he had no interest in scaling the operation up (anyone more knowledgeable than me feel free to correct me, cyc wid it has been posting for a longgg time and was around back then too, same with bows1). But eventually with word getting out, toj got more exposure than ever planned but it's not like they turned people away and it basically led up to ToJ closing and what we have now (that's the short version the long version is ofc just reading the ToJ thread hahaha that will paint a better picture than a few posts on this thread could)

It is possible to find a nice half belt under 500 dollars? It does not have to be horsehide, I been looking but...
