Anyone have experience with Vanson and the quality of their jackets and customisation options? I've been searching for a cafe racer style for some time and essentially want an amalgamation of these two Vanson models

To create something remarkably close to the junya x Vanson

I called Thurston and it looks like they can make the belts removeable on the Aero jackets. There appear to be a lot of other options, too, which I'm getting excited about. I'm planning to go with this model:

Would it be a bad idea to ask them to take off the buttoned "ticket pocket" on the front and instead put it on one or both arms?

my rec, is remove the pocket all together, no belt, remove the shoulder straps, remove the leather pulls, ask for chrome/silver zips with nicer pull tabs

That jacket is made using a "heavy" horsehide (Horween I think).  It is VERY thick and heavy.  If you ride and seek additional protection, the thickness and weight serve a purpose.  If not, you may not like the additional thickness/weight.  I know more than one person who was surprised and displeased by the thickness/weight of a jacket made using Aero's "thick" HH.  If you are not familiar with the weight of this HH, you should get a sample beforehand.  I think Thurston has sample jackets available.  I suspect Aero can make the same design using a HH that is not so thick.

^^ second the above. Aero HH is really heavy and stiff. Would only use it for real moto purposes
