Yes, it's supposed to be like that, and personally I like it like that. I rarely do it, but I can't say I never do it, because I have a couple of slim casual jackets with very high button stances, and they look right with both buttons done.

I haven't really worn sport coats in the past and am looking to start. I'm trying to sort out the proper jacket length and have been reading multiple threads. What do you think of this fit?  I am about 6'1 and this is a 36R (length from BOC 29.25"). Thanks!
