Biggest Loser @ My Company

So my company is doing this "Biggest Loser" competition where it's $100 to enter, and the person with the largest percentage of weight lost by the Oct 15th weigh-in will win $800 (contingent upon how many people enter, so far there are 8).

Anyone who doesn't lose at least 3% must take the others out to dinner & eat only bread & water. If you gain weight you have to kick in another $50.

I weighed in at 255.5 (I'm 6'4")

The other entrants' weights are like 205, 235, 225, 195 etc.

I recently began cycling again & inadvertantly lost 10lbs in 2 weeks (was hovering around 265 before the bike acquisition). Anything else you guys would suggest for me to hit about 215-220lbs (15%) by 10/15? I know riding fixed gear will build leg muscle so I have to eat protein, but mainly I'm trying to lose the midsection (tire, handles, thighs) & build upper body strength (arms, chest).

What do you suggest in the way of diet? Thanks!

We did the same thing at my company and I rode my bike (road bike on trainer + spinervals, 1-2hrs/day) and cut my food intake by a third for 5 weeks. On the day of the final weigh-in, I rode for 3 hours in the morning and didn't eat or drink anything at all. I won by 0.5 lbs!

This is my plan.

Christ, that sounds tough.

When I was at my thinnest, I alternated between running for distance and lifting weights for strength. I was down to 155, but pound-for-pound I was significantly stronger than I ever was. I drank a good bit of Met-Rx - some days it was breakfast and dinner. Whole-wheat bagels with Peanut Butter were also good. I think I cut out the red meat, and used iron supplements.

Good luck.

lmao. I found a 100 capsules of 100mg selling for $250 online. Is that the going rate? I could make it myself. Order 500g for $40. I've got a hood and scales. Mix it up with cornstarch and I'd probably get well over 1000 capsules at 300mg.

How much is liposuction? Less than $800?

Depends on who's doing it.
I'm sure that Dr Nick (of Simpsons fame) would be less than $800.
If you want to survive the procedure, though, you might want to pay more than that...

If you're tired and dehydrated from cycling I doubt the clinic will allow you to donate blood.

Without getting into which diet is best for the long term - I think its fairly conclusive that low-carb diet (Atkins, South Beach) are the best for rapid weight loss.

It's not low-carb...it's high-protein.

Eat no food the night before weigh-ins--or maybe a candy bar. No food in the morning, and def. NO LIQUIDS. Morning of, put on all-cotton sweats, all-cotton knit cap, wrap self in garbage bags, jump rope, run up and down stairs, jump rope, run up and down stairs, spit incessantly in a drool cup, remove garbage bags and sopping wet sweatpants, take quick shower, towel off, stand on your head minutes before weigh-ins, and you are good to go.
