Cost of pizza

Amazing how much it has increased over the past couple of years. I ordered a medium pizza and a 2 liter of Coke tonight; $16! I think I was paying closer to 11 or 12 last year for the same exact thing. I've seen a few articles about the cost of dough and cheese skyrocketing.

Yeah it's nuts, but I do think it's been going on for more than a year.

My gf's ex runs a pizza shop. I'm hoping he'll be forced out of business.

Does the $16 figure take into account the carbon footprint of the pizza and bottle of coke?

Quit your whining. 15 pounds for a large pan from Pizza Hut. Thats about 30 dollars.

Ehhh, noone actually pays that though, a large thin crust from the brick oven italian across the street is only about 8 pounds. (and if you are an idiot like me, Pizza Slut always has deals)

Anyone who pays $30 for Pizza Hut should be shot immediately.

are you buying pizza from the better places?

when i get a pizza from pizza hut or dominos, run of the mill places, i always use the coupons that come in the mail.

my cost for large combination pizza or two medium pizzas with drinks and breadstick always come out to about 18-25 dollars including tip.

I generally order from local independent pizzerias. I try to support them as much as possible over Dominos, Pizza Hut, etc.

Pizza Hut is nasty. No matter where you are in America, you probably have a local place that's better and cheaper.

Years ago my friend and I arrived tired and hungry at a friend's place in NYC, our very first visit to New York. Our hostess asks if want to just order some pizza, and we enthusiastically agreed. I thought she was going to hook us up with some pizza from an authentic NY pizzeria. We answer the door 45 minutes later and it's some guy from Dominos. We paid, IIRC, about $26 for a medium pizza that was cold and tasted like cardboard. Some friend.

I admit that I do order Pizza Hut sometimes. Not becuase its the best pizza, but because after growing up in the US, and now living overseas for 6 odd years sometimes I want a bit of American chain food.

I still haven't caved to Mickey Ds, BK, KFC yet, but I do indulge in a box of Kraft Mac & Cheese every now and then.

Dude you're in college. What kind of college town doesn't have one of those open-18 hours a day, $8.50 for a large and an order of breadsticks kind of pizza places?
