Planning A Bachelor Party in Vegas - Need Help

I have been tasked with arranging a bachelor party for a close friend in Vegas in September. Given that I haven't partied in Vegas since early 2006, I'm unsure on which are the good clubs these days, and would appreciate some help from LV regulars.

1. Are places like Rain, Body English, Jet, PURE still halfway decent?
2. Any recs for new clubs that have opened (Moon, Light, Tryst and the like)?
3. How easy will it be to get 10-15 guys in at any of the good places (i.e. how many bottles will it take)?
4. Any 'tricks' that I need to be aware of in order to get discounts, smooth entry of b-party attendees etc.?

FYI, we will be staying at the Mandalay Bay.

Thanks: ET

1. Body english, Jet, and Pure are still hot, not sure about Rain, I think it's gone down hill.
2. Tryst at the Wynn is my favorite spot hands down. Light at the Bellagio is now The Bank, never been but heard good things. Tao at the Venetian is a good spot. If you go there ask for one of the private rooms on the mezzanine.
3. If you are willing to pony up big $$$ you'll be fine. CALL NOW THOUGH! Call the Pure Group or Light Group. You're probably looking at a 3-5 bottle minimum at $300-$500 a pop.
4. Your best bet is to set something up now, befriend the person on the phone, maybe give them some bs story that instead of a bachelor party it's to celebrate the launch of your IPO and you'll be spending big $$$ that night. I don't know, it worked for us one time.

Also, check out TAO Beach or Wet Republic for daytime pool action.

Have fun.

Budget is always important before answering these questions. One thing you should really consider is a "VIP Host" service. They offer different levels of service for different price points. Getting you onto guest lists, etc. is relatively easy for them. http://www.innkeepervegas.com/ If you call those guys and ask for Jordan, he's a very nice guy. He and I played craps for a long time one night in the HRH and really hit it off....he gave me his card (which unfortunately I do not have handy since I'm traveling) and offered to get me into any club that weekend. I have not used his services, so I can't offer a full testimonial, but it's worth a phone call. Also don't underestimate the value of being early. You can get a lot more from a $200 tip at 9pm. Pure, and Moon, Tryst, and Drais are probably some of the hottest right now. The Playboy club at Moon is also pretty nice to chill for a while and then go back down to the club part that is officially "Moon". If you happen to have an Amex platinum, I've heard the concierge can help a lot. Another trick is to work a 2-way with the hotel where you want to club. Eat dinner at one of their high-end restaurants and have the maitre'd arrange for you to walk in from dinner to the club.

Been to 3 bachelor parties in vegas this summer. Tao is awesome. For 15 guys, you're looking at 4 or 5 bottles minimum. I like the second floor, opium....Tao Beach is an option I did last time, but it wasn't as wild as other times I've been there. but I would rather be in the Opium Den to be honest. You could probably get the big tables over the main dance floor but that is $$$$$. I also dug Prive. Pure was ok. JET is ok. Rain sucks. Body English is ok, but small (Sunday is their big night after Rehab). Go to http://jackcolton.com/ for tips. I use a booking agency/host to get into clubs usually. They vary alot in how effective they are and how well they can hook you up. I used VegasFlux.com...their website seems to be down....JR was the man....he was awesome.....the last time, we used another guy and he was weak. other things we did: Golf @ Callaway Driving Range The Gun Shop to shoot automatic weapons Good dinner somewhere on the strip (maybe even a cheesy buffett) depends on the vibe of the party. there are ones you just want to have a good time bonding with your guy friends. Other times, the goal is to bond with new girl friends.

This is very helpful guys - thank you. I called up a few of of the 'vip' services, and am looking at Tryst, PURE and Tao.

Also consider Helicopter ride over the strip. There are some weight restrictions, but it's WAY COOL. and only takes about 90 minutes soup to nuts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you get a table and get bottle service, don't you get an unlimited guest list?

No - not at all. More like 1 bottle for every three guys. Same holds true for clubs in NYC, LA etc.

Prive is not that great. I was there opening night. Jet is only worth it on industry night and it's such an awful layout that I can't imagine how you'd enjoy a bachelor party there. Also 15 dudes are going to have trouble but I recommend finding a bunch of girls in line and going in together. I like pool parties at the different hotels and depending on what night you're there, one is hotter than another.

Rehab is awesome, but its better to have a room there at the hard rock. You get so tired drinking in the sun after a while.

When I went to Prive, Too $hort was performing live and it was Cinco De Mayo, so I had a good time.

The only club I've been to in Vegas is Tao. I went last September to a buddy's bachelor party. We were put on the roof (beach club) and we had to buy a bottle for every two guys. We were there the night before the VMAs and so there were celebrities all over the place, which made things a real pain in the ass. Jamie Foxx had the best table in the club and it was one of the big corner tables next to the main dance floor.

We went back for my bachelor party in January with a friend of mine who is an actor. We ended up with the table Jamie Foxx had and had four bottles comped.

I would plan on having to buy a bottle for every two or three guys, and the cheapest when we were there was either $375 or $425. I think if you're wanting to hang out with your friends the beach club is best. If you're wanting to find women then your best bet is the second floor. Feel free to PM with any questions.

Thanks to everyone for their response. A few questions:

1. Is Drais a good after-hours spot?
2. Apart from Tryst, what is a good club that people recommend for the second night? - PURE, or aRe there any new places worth a visit?

read this not so much for your nights out, but worth a shot. last year at the palms, i slipped the girl a tip at check in and she gave us an upgraded room on the 52nd floor. doesn't sound like much, but floors 50 and above get their own elevator ( nothing is more annoying than being on floor 30 and stopping at 2,3,4,16,18,20,25 before your floor), Front of Line access to ghostbar, which is pretty cool. and a few other small but neat things.
