Toga! Toga! Not original, but effective.

As played as it is, a friend did throw a really great Pimps n Hoes last year here. There was also an awesome Dirty Doctors and Naughty Nurses night. Way back I went to a great Crime n Punishment birthday in my hometown...but as a general rule, I kinda hate theme parties.

+1 on the different invitations - seems like a lot of fun.

you mean crime n punishment as in Dostoievsky or as in whips, chains and handcuffs. both seem pretty interesting."

I went as a judge. Lots of people in police uniforms, lots of ho-costumes from various eras, big group of Italian guys went as circa 1940s Mafia dons. The host - Emma - got so trashed she had to have her friends finish her birthday speech for her cos she started, then ran off to puke...was pretty funny. Her friends were like 'and Emma would like to thank her parents for throwing this party (*MASSIVE PUKING NOISE*), her brother Jason for holding the bucket'..... I got drunk and picked up some chick (who wasnt in costume) by telling her 'she was the hottest damn crack whore in this whole place'. Good times man...

Life experience has made me a pro at these... Simple: Graffiti party. Everyone wears blank t-shirts and you tape butcher paper all over the walls. Leave a ton of Sharpies lying around and let people go nuts. I still have a shirt or two from my college days and the random shit people will write over the course of a night is amazing. Complicated: My old job would have parties every Saturday night. Since we were a decent-sized group and all knew each other fairly well, we'd divide ourselves up into smaller groups and each one would be responsible for one party over the course of several months. After we came up with a theme we'd then start assigning people their costumes. This really helped to make the party interesting as people would get pretty damn creative in constructing their costumes as well as trying to stay in character for as long as they could. These parties were by and large the greatest I've ever been to and probably will ever witness. I'd post pics of the boxing ring, the used car we demolished, the obstacle course, the jello wrestling inflatable pool, etc. but clearly it's all incriminating as this wasn't for kids. Themes included Hollywood, Back to High School, Heaven & Hell, USA!, Luau, Christmastime in Summer (Santa Empties His Sack), Decades, Sex Ed, and several others that I simply do not remember thanks to Mr.Booze.

I cant imagine the next day at work when the memories start to some back. those Ideas sound utterly awesome but pictures would really be a plus here! I may use some of these in the future!
