Thoughts on Emile Lafaurie?

Thread Starter
Hi folks, On a rare walk through the Marina in San Francisco last weekend, I popped in Sean, which only sells goods by Emile Lafaurie (so why the name "Sean"? But I digress...). Does anyone have any experience with this brand? The prices are low-mid-range, and looked nice to my fairly clueless eye. Lots of pick-stitching on polos, blazers, pants, suits, etc, and classic styles. Cufflinks were the usual outrage, with vintage ones that I see selling on ebay for $20-50 on offer there for $200 and up. I haven't found any talk about them in a google search, so was wondering if they're well-made, and if folks thing they're a good value. Thanks! Adam

I shop at the one on the UWS. I like their scarves and their cord trousers. The store guy mentions that Bruce Willis seems to like the scarves too. Their ties are narrow and more trendy in nature. The pick stitching is too loud for my taste but YMMV.

Styling is like MOR agnes b.

I have never purchased anything from the Sean Store in NYC, but my brother in law really likes them. They are his favorite suit for the money, as they fit him well (tall and lanky).

Reviving this thread for an endorsement of Emile Lafaurie.

If you are visiting Paris during the solders (January and July) this is a pretty good buy. I picked up a slim cut cotton/linen casual sports coat for 130 euros and a cotton/linen scarf for 25 in their Batignolles boutique. Not sure I'd pay full price but if you want relatively discreet euro-style biz/cash stuff you can't go wrong.

Not sure if they still sell in the US.

I walked into the Sean store in Hayes Valley (San Francisco). I didn't purchase anything, but a lot of the stuff seemed of decent quality. The hopsack jackets were under $400. The shirts seemed pretty nice, though I didn't try anything on. I am eyeing the navy jacket and I liked the store overall. Will return soon :)

I also like GANT RUGGER across the street. (different price point, occasion)
