Random trivia I just realized and looked up to confirm. Sgt. Rudy Reyes is played by himself, which is very cool.

I thought the first episode was just ok, but it's really picked up and is reaching the kinds of heights I've come to expect from Simon and Burns.

Rudy Reyes is my favorite character.

It ended when the book ended, it's a true memoir so he couldn't keep going and making stuff up that he didn't see, could he?

Obviously. I had read earlier in the week there were rumors that a second season was being discussed.

Bump cuz I just watched this. I avoided it initially assuming it was gonna either be "AMERICA FUCK YEAH" or "LOL FUCK AMERICA" but it wasn't. It was fucking great.

Real talk: this show is the bee's knees. I LOVE uncle Ray Ray.

I love the scene where Sixta lights into the Marines harassing the female marine, and winks at Iceman - sort of indicating that his being a dick is a role he has to play in the company.
