I really enjoyed the book, read it several times, I'll be sure to watch this.

I enjoyed the book but I'm always leery about book to film transitions.

Didn't know it was a book. I don't really care for the name. But I will definately check it out.

Premiere episode seemed decent. I've read a bit about the miniseries, and apparently the author is happy with the final product, and has explained that he was surprised that it wasn't more "Hollywood-ized". I take that to be a good thing.

Definitely different from the Band Of Brothers mini which is refreshing. I love BoB, but nothing will replace it. Well... maybe this will

The first episode was pretty boring, but I really liked the second. More of the witty chit-chat/banter between marines which made the book so fun to read.

Hey, reporter! If you lay with your cock against the ground as a tank goes by, it feels fucking great!

Agreed.

I really enjoyed it. the internation beteween the noncoms, the officers, the seargant major, the recon guys and the regular line marines strikes me as very believable.

Yeah I think the input of the marines and the reporter who wrote the book kept the series pretty faithful. A lot of the dialogue is verbatim from irl.

Gotta love it!
2 thumbs up.

The thing that really irks me is that the copy of the book I bought has on its cover a group shot of the main soldiers. Except it's not the real soldiers, but the actors who play the soldiers. The original group shot is found in black-and-white inside the book. I guess it's a marketing necessity, but it really irked me.

haha, TV production version, GG. My copy just has the lone marine on the cover, don't know if it's one of the actual marines.

There are more than a few books I have refrained from buying because of the movie/TV covers. It's silly of me but it's just a personal hangup I have. Anyways, this is a very good show.

Second episode is great. I'm going to upgrade this show to live viewing

Episode 3 is good.
