I knew some hardcore drunks that had trouble getting nutrition. Into their pint they often put 2-3 ounces of tomato juice.

Beer + tomato juice is drinkable. Not sure I'd ever do it myself, though.

Last night I was at pub quiz and one of the questions what makes a Black Velvet - Guinness and champagne. Ugh.

I love good beer too much to mix it with anything other than the acid that's in my stomach.

I had another epiphany last night. Shandys are really really good for drinking the beer that you're not so fond of. I had some leftover bottles of Shiner Blonde that I do not like on their own. Add some lemonade and presto - love at first gulp!

i think it mexico i was drinking salted glasses of corona with a bit of lime/lemon juice in them, and some ice. i forget what it was called, but it was pretty effective at keeping your drink cold.

more of a hot day at the beach/pool type drink, though.

there was another drink that may have involved clam juice and beer. and maybe some red stuff. didn't like it, didn't inquire further.

There's the college student drink in England known as a Snakebite, which I believe is lager, cider, and creme de cassis. Sounds awful. My wife had a few after hockey games and remembers them fondly, but none for me thanks.

Then there's the Black Velvet, supposedly created for the funeral of Prince Albert (correct?), when even the champagne needed to be draped in black. Half stout, half champagne.

In France, the classic beer-based drinks are:
- panachÃ
00a9.png
(beer + lemonade)
- Monaco (beer + lemonade + grenadine syrup)
- twist (beer + lemon juice)
- tango (beer + grenadine syrup)
- valse (beer + mint syrup)

You should be able to get any of these at the counter of any French cafÃ
