Iowa floods damage architectural marvel

Don't worry, it's not destroyed, but I shudder at the thought of how this building will look when the rehabilitation process is begun. The structure was designed by Stephen Holl and houses the University of Iowa's School of Art and Art History. The pictures are depressing, beware. Before and after the flood:

How is it an architectural marvel? It just looks like a contemporary design to me.

I like it. As with any modern design, you have to take in the context of its surroundings. The cantilevered section over the water (is that usually there?) is pretty cool.

I think it is a gorgeous building. I'm tempted to visit UIowa's campus just to see this structure.

Reminds me of a a storage shed, like one of those self-storage unit.
