Cool - well, I'm mostly sold on the Aquos, and I absolutely will not light-control my environment for the purposes of movies/TV, so it's probably going to be a Sharp that I end up getting. BTW, Circuit City has the newest 46" 120hz Aquos for $1499 if you check the deal sites. Was very tempted to just do that but that's still a lot of money.

Andre, what do you think of Fujitsu plasmas? My father and his friend started up a business of installing hi-end theatre systems and HDTVs in homes and corporate offices, so they went a bit crazy with the wholesale connections. My father bought a Pio plasma that's a fucking brilliant piece of equipment and was the best-looking TV I've seen... until I saw his partner's Fujitsu, which makes any LCDs I've seen look like Fischer price jawnz, and despite my preference to Pio, blew me away. What say you?

I've only seen them in stores, so take this with a grain of salt. They're supposed to be the best plasmas out there, at least as of a few years ago. Their primary advantages include being calibrated correctly out of the box, and having really good video processing. They're also very expensive, more so than Pioneer. However, I don't think they have a great advantage these days anymore, and Pioneers are comparable or better.

those sharps are a fine choice sir.

sooner of later it just comes down to pulling the trigger.. you could go back and forth forever but i bet you'll be a lot happier when you just get something home and can start to enjoy it!

Well, considering that as of today I no longer expect to be living in this place past another 3-4 months, I'm kind of glad that I didn't jump the gun and get yet another unwieldy physical possession to move. I think this idea is on hold now while I figure out what I'm going to do.
