Kelly on "The Apprentice"

So, Kelly wins the big award (and YES, I was rooting for Jen) and takes a position in Trump's organization. But did anyone else notice what a completely crappy suit the guy had on? The jacket was too short, poorly tailored around the neck and shoulders and GULP it was a 6 to 2 Double Breasted with exceptionally wide lapels. Didn't those go out like in 1995? Is this is suit he wore to his college formal? How could he go out in front of tens of millions of people claiming to be the top of the top of business acumen dressed like a door-to-door salesman? I thought Trump paid close attention to these things.

Well... let's see.. Trump's suits, shirts and ties Trump's HAIR I don't think he cares too much about this kind of thing, to be honest.

Keep in mind, Kelly needed a quite a few suits to wear throughout the show. Its not like he only needed one or two great suits to wear to an interview. But, why would were you rooting for Jennifer. It was obvious to everybody that Kelly was a better candidate than Jen. But, I did feel bad for her when it was basically 9 in favor of Kelly to 2 in favor of Jen. I thought she was going to cry at some point. From all the boardroom interactions, its obvious that she's a great lawyer, just not necessairly a good leader or business person.

yeah, but even when Bill Rancic started making $250,000 per year (plus all the promo stuff he was/ is doing, I imagine) he still doesn't dress well. I'd almost bet he wears thousand dollar suits at BEST, may even get them "free" like other celebs from places like D&G. I'm sure Kelly will be the same.

I've only seen the odd episode, but are all the contestants "dressed" by one designer or another? One of them, Raj, seems to wear only Ralph Lauren clothing - and badly, I might add. Things like a peak-lapel, chalk-stripe jacket with khakis - makes it look like he got dressed in the dark...

Amazing that such sucessful people would be so negligent about the "image" that they are exuding. I'd love to see an Italian version of the Apprentice. haha koji

that would be cool - they would roll in about 10 am, gossip and smoke for a few hours, have a 3 hour lunch with wine, pop out to screw the girlfriend, work a little, go home to spend some time with the family and have a 3 course dinner, no stupid assignments, everybody would look great and eat great and smoke a lot, and somehow they would still end up with a relativly healthy economy and less heart desease.

I would have been happy had someone just tightened their tie against their shirt collar instead of leaving a half inch gap. Clearly I'm in the minority, but I liked both Raj and Jen. The next Apprentice looks to be interesting. It's set up to cheer for the high school grads but since I've got a couple of college degrees that might be self-defeating...

One more thing on Rancic, I knew he wasn't getting the whole dressing thing when he showed up in an episode wearing a Burberry novacheck tie. I hadn't seen anyone actually wearing one of those since the guy working at Saks.

Raj has worn quite a few items from Banana Republic, and for being a real estate investor, he failed pretty baddly at a real estate rehad job he lead??? Also, though I was rooting for Kevin, I thought it sad to see so many ill fitting suits on him with giant shoulders and a box cut. But hes a pretty big guy, maybe its tough to find a good suit when your built, not to mention he is still in school (at 29). After Kevin left it was obvious that Kelly had it in the bag, neither of the girls were prepared for organizing and managing others. Though the bridal shop girl was much more qualified IMHO. I thought it was very unprofessional and annoying to see Jen yelling and interupting everytime in the boardroom, very unproffesional, but Trump seemed to like it?? Eric

I'm moving.

You sure Kelly was wearing a double breasted? I thought it was just a regular old single-breasted. As for Kevin, how could the guy not have suits with huge shoulders -- the guy is jacked. I actually thought Kevin looked very good the majority of the time. Raj put together interesting looks and I think that any reasonable person would call him well-dressed and stylish. He at least tries, and his pairing of things like Khakis and that peak lapel blazer was not only a fashion statement, but some sort of cultural statement as well in my opinion. He knows what he's doing. Foxx, why ripping on $1000 suits? Is Canali -- which is not more than $1400 or so -- good enough for a guy like Bill Rancic to wear? I think Jenn is hot by the way. Just thought I'd plug her (err, put a plug in for her).

I agree.

I thought the contestants in this season were much better dressed than they were last season. Between the short short skirts on the women last year and some of the most hideous ties I ever saw a man wear, last years group was appalling. This season I thought they were at least trying harder, even if they did not pull it off. Incidentally my wife sat next to Carolyn on a plane last year and complained to her about how poorly dressed everyone was. Carolyn seemed surprised that we thought they were so poorly dressed.
