Wow, those pen are awesome!
Though I'm left handed, and I'm afraid that I would always have ink on my left hand(since it is going over freshly written letter when I write.)
Any of you is left handed, and use a fountain pen? Any advice?

Is that a pilot capless? After trying one in Paris I've been meaning to get one. Completely forgot, but I have a feeling it was a bit expensive...

The Pilot Capless aka Namiki vanishing point is a reasonably priced pen. It is convenient to use and it is easy to change the nib unit according to your writing styles, what always put me off was the really poor CC system.

I slightly prefer the "Decimo" model of the Namiki Vanishing Point line (It's slightly slimmer and easier for me to write with), but the regular model has a good heft to it--writes very well too, although I must concur with the CC system not being so great.

Ever since I purchased a basic Pelikan in 1977, I've preferred a fountain pen over any other writing implement. Three years ago I discovered vintage pens, fine ink and paper.

wow, I love the LAMY 2000 Fountain Pen,
I think it would be an awesome pen to get and realy start witting with it.
Do you think the M nib would get too much ink on the paper so that my hand passing over the fresly written letter(I'm left-handed) would make the ink somehow leak?
Someone have one to sell, or know a place to get them at a good price?
thanks,

-O

I'm a left handed, and use a couple of FP's. I tend to find that using fine or xtra-fine nibs work best, to reduce the volume of ink that gets used. All companies have different widths for their nibs, so all F or XF nibs aren't the same size though.

Also, finding an ink that dries quickly helps as well. I really don't have much of a problem getting ink on my hand, perhaps a little bit after writing a lot, but no more then if using a ballpoint pen.

I bought a Visconti Van Gogh fountain pen out of sheer curiosity and I've been nothing but pleased. I use it daily now, love the way it writes, and especially the way it looks. There's something romantic about fountain pens, too.
