I am not surprised to see this post. I ordered a suit for my wedding from Joe Hemrajani at Bermini Tailors. Hemrajani and the people of Bermini Tailors were fine throughout the process and as part of buying a nearly $2000 suit, I was to also receive 2 custom shirts for free.
I got the suit a week before my wedding. But no shirts. I was told the shirts were on their way. Long story short, they were not. I told Hemrajani that I needed the shirts sent to me, as I left for Knoxville - where I was to be married - a few days ahead of the wedding. Then he told me the shirt was being made in Knoxville. What luck! (and there are actually several very good shirtmakers in Knoxville, so I believed him). I called him twice a day that Thursday and Friday ... he finally called me to say one shirt was on the way.
On Saturday morning, the day before my wedding, a package arrived at my wife's family's house. It was a shirt ... but not my shirt. And it arrive from Bermini Tailors in NYC, not a shirtmaker in Knoxville.
I opened it up and it wasn't even a nice shirt. The fabric was cheap and the collar wasn't the one I'd chosen. And the all the stitchings were machine made. There was an extra set of holes for adjustable French cuffs (classy!) and the label of the original shirt had been pealed off/cut out of the neck.
I bought another shirt in Knoxville on Saturday. And when I called Bermini Tailors to inquire about my shirts, I NEVER received a return phone call and never got through to a person to speak to. So I NEVER got the shirt that was promised to me by Joe Hemrajani and Bermini Tailors.
I feel badly for the guy in CA with the same name!
