I'm sure you have explored the usual (books, CDs, cashmere or silk scarf, jewelry, etc) which can all be tricky in their own way. I'd suggest something that can potentially fit women of all ages, provided they like to be pampered: a facial + massage at a beauty salon, or a day at a spa, depending on your budget.
I wouldn't dare to try and buy shoes for a woman. Given that that she who must be obeyed feels it necessary to visit every shoe shop in a given town, trying on many different shoes and still not able to arrive easily at a decision, what hope would I have of getting the right thing? This year I commissioned a traditional brooch (RAF 'wings') in white and yellow gold from a working jeweller who makes regimental jewellery. Old ones come up on Ebay quite often, but modern ones (with the Queen's crown) very rarely. Indeed, the only decent one I have seen was by Asprey, and £15k.
what elese did you gentlemen get for your significant others? [translate as: i'm stuck, need help]
www.bluenile.com currently has free 2-day FedEx shipping. I have ordered these earrings Earrings and this necklace Necklace for my wife. I think if you order by Wednesday, you could still get something delivered in time for Christmas. I also picked up a cashmere sweater twinset (tank and cardigan) for her as well. Hope this helps...
