tough to say. but in her favor is the fact that she's doing the short distance events, not the long distance events. strength is usually the last thing to go. and short distance is easier to train for, at least from my perspective.
and yeah, the swimsuits make a huge difference. when i swam back in age group, high school and for part of one year in college, the swimsuits weren't as engineered as they are now. i remember being impressed by what my buddies called "paper suits" - just really thin and lightweight swimsuts.
