Watches

Hello all, looks like we haven't discussed this in a while. My Nixon has busted after a good three years of use or so, which isn't bad for a $120 watch. Anyways, I really like the look of the watch, and their pricepoints are what I'm looking for. If I ever spend a shitload of money on a watch, it'd be on a $20K Patek, so I'm not spending a lot of money unless that's going to happen.

So, what are some nice watches (ideally with websites where I can buy) in the $200 range? All styles, really. Nixon are cool because they are modern without being too skate-y or surf-y. Thanks.

At that price range.. i never went away from Swatch, Seiko or hamilton( i guess hamilton is a swatch too).

I am also looking for reputable legit website. One where i can buy various seiko and specifically an IWC Portofino (Mid-size, just steel and leather strap one). I have been googling and watching timezone forum a bit but have not found a site that I am confident enough yet. Probably should go to an actual store for that?

Yeah that's like a 2K+ watch. keeping this in the $200 range, with links to cool watches we can buy at that price, would be nice.

Vestal is another brand in the same style as Nixon -- I wouldn't recommend it if you're antisocial since the guy I knew who wore one couldn't help but pick up compliments from strangers.

And I think they're sold at Zappos, which is an online store I trust.

www.pmwf.com [Poor Man's Watch Forum]

I just bought a Seiko that I really like for $70.00 For a relatively good watch like Seiko, you can't beat that price.

I'll check out those forums. I don't want to buy a used watch. I'm leaning toward buying another Nixon.

Check out the seller, \tpokemonyu on ebay. He has a lot of seiko automatic watches for under 200 USD.

Here is one of the watches I bought from him:

I think there is more info in this thread:

Hamilton field watches are pretty nice and cost between $200-300. Thinking of getting one with a brown leather strap.

+1

I've bought two automatic Seiko "5" watches from that seller. The delivery was fast to the US. I think that the auto Seiko's are some of the best values around. The second hands even sweep (more or less)
