Maybe the last is more narrow on the smaller sizes? On my 12's I've got plenty of room in the forefront, where as on my Quoddy/RL ones that's usually where it's more tight for me.

Also, can you share how you ordered them?

Could be. The specific pair I had that experience with were also UK 8/ US 9. I know many lasts scale unevenly. I really like some of the welted shoes. The Milspec shoes and boots are really nice and I have a pair of dirty bucks with a redbrick Vibram sole coming that are pretty handsome. Which chukka do you like? They have a bit of a "Monster Truck" thing going on, but I quite like the ones with the ripple sole.

Yeah. I sent over a trace of my foot to Russell Moccasins awhile back and they had suggested a EEE for me.

How'd you go about ordering?

I have wide feet and the suede Ranger Moccs fit me fine.
I'd also like to know how you were able to special order from them.

The red ones are nice, but I opted for the tan pair. Can't wait for them to arrive.

I got the tan chukkas and they are beautiful and perfect in every way. Except one. Unfortunately they run small so I'm in the process of exchanging them (for one FULL size up from my normal size -- no half sizes available). We'll see.

Special order is a bit misleading. I was able to piggyback an order of a pair of Tobacco Ranger Moccs in an E size on a restocking run they were making up for Oi Polloi. It was more a case of right place right time than special order per-se. They don't have a special order program in the same sense that, for instance, Russell do. I have the suede chukka with the boat sole and they fit a half size small width-wise. They will stretch since they are unlined. P.S. Y'all slept on the dirty bucks that were on ebay for $70. Mistake.
