someone spilt some oily food on my leather tobacco country rangers this evening which has led to some discoloration of the uppers. sad times. if anyone has any advice about what (if anything) i can do to remove or lessen the appearance, it would be much appreciated.

It's cxl right? If so I'd just wipe down and maybe put a little neatsfoot oil on it

Can anyone comment on the fit of the sports chukka? How is it compared to the ranger mocs?

I imagine they are built on nearly an identical last and shape. I'm sure some owners would be more than happy to chime in....

For those not lucky or white enough to live in Portland, Ryan will be at our vendor showcase at the W San Francisco on May 5.

Probably a stupid question but are the F/W Yuketen shoes with the wool panels in it significantly warmer than the ones without them? Like is it too hot to wear in 70 degree weather? Just wondering because some shoe companies just use different color palettes for the S/S versus F/W with the shoes not being any warmer/cooler.

I have the Maine Guide Boots with wool panels... They're a little cooler than full leather boots, I think, because they ventilate more on that portion of the boot. At any rate, I wouldn't wear them in 70 degree weather.

Thanks. I was worried that they might be insulated since they're F/W boots.

Hey,

Sorry if this stuff has been asked/spoken about already (it probably has), and sorry if it's not cool to just sign up and jump in and ask for advice like this.

However, just got a pair of Maine Guide OX DB (10E. I wear 11/10.5 in most shoes) and am a little concerned about the sizing. Length wise, I think they're fine. A little heel slip but from what I gather that's normal/to be expected. If anything they're roomy. Width wise, they do feel a little tight. Certainly tighter than any of my other shoes, though I do mostly wear Clarks, which I've always found to be supremely comfortable.

The width 'problem' is not so much in the toe box, but slightly further back towards the bottom of the toes, if that makes sense? I also find the 'depth' of the shoe to be a bit shallow (as in from sole to top side of toes).

Just wondered, to what extent will they stretch. If they will stretch, how long should I expect? I notice a few pages back someone mentioned that theirs were 'very tight'. I wouldn't go as far as to say that these were 'very tight', but it's certainly noticeable.

I've already worn these once, so I can't return them. However if the width thing will be a problem I'd rather look into selling/trading them now.

Thanks in advance.

Pull out the insole, it goes right back in.... That should fix your depth, heal slip and width... Also some find them more comfortable.
