Yuketen Footwear - Page 106

Hi all, here is a pic of my new Maine Guide Boots in cerise (8.5 E). They look wonderful in cerise color with that yellow tongue. It was the only model and only size available from this italian ebayer. I am an 8.5 D in Red Wing (Iron Ranger/875) and in Alden (Barrie last). Probably a 9 in these would have been a bit spacier, but I remembered what larryr wrote in this forum a few pages back so I bought them:

The heel slippage definitely lessens a great deal after they are worn in, I remember it being pretty annoying when i first started to wear them.
I also remember them being very tight width wise, now they fit like a glove.

Also in mine, while length is ok, I have a bit of heel slippage and I feel them a bit tight width wise but I am confident that they will fit great after some wearing. Anyway I couldn't miss the bargain, as I paid only 120 € ($155) for these when european prices are over 450 € ($580)!

Just got a pair of Maine Guide chukkas and have a bit of heel slip. The shoes are a bit snug at the toes but not unreasonable so and width is just a bit tight. Does this sound like a good fit to start? How long does it normally take to go away? Have another pair of Maine Guide boots coming in and will probably only keep one of them.

welcome to yuketen ownership. sounds like they fit fine. wont stretch in length but will in width (slightly). you should have a little heel slip with the mg style. if you dont like it try the angler moc or one of the chukkas.

Thanks for the info, yeah according to the thread the fit should work, just wanted to make sure. Got some Maine Guide DB boots coming in as well so I'll probably take the one that fits better.

the mg dbs are going to feel like they fit way different then your chukkas, but give them time and you might decide you like them more. at least that was my experience. the dbs feel weird because they are so high.

the chukka is such a nice all-weather shoe though.

'Your country will determin any custom charges at point of delivery. All goods despatched are fully insured to the total value of the goods. The Hip Store are not liable for any charges at this point. If you are unsure then please contanct your local customs / tax office.'

not sure why you people cannot read info off websites. do you always get spoon fed or can you be a little resourceful?

Yes I read it off the website, but that doesn't really help much. I have never ordered from the UK before, so i'm confused. I searched up the local customs/tax office of New Hampshire, no information can be found. So was wondering if anyone who has ordered from the UK before can fill in some information regarding if it is worth ordering from the UK.

*Since Yuketen is made in the USA, will it be exempt?

if you read the website you would be able to answer your question. try again.

How does the peanut suede age?

I'm tempted to drop on some MG 5-eye DB boots in peanut. I assume like most lighter colored suedes it will gradually get a little darker with wear. But I'm curious to hear how well the peanut holds up (and looks) after it gets worn a lot and banged up a bit. If I get them I don't want to baby'em.

They look exactly like red wing wabasha boots haha

I don't own wabasha boots, but I think that chukka design by Yuketen was intended to give a nod to RW wabasha's. Either way, they are comfortable as hell.
