Best furniture for flat screen TV components?

I'm in the process of buying a new flat screen and I'm planning to wall mount it. With the wall mount, though, you have the issue of the wires showing connecting the TV with the cable box and other components (surround sound system or DVD player, etc). What's the best way of setting this "system" up? Looking for neat ways to hide the wires as well as having furniture for the boxes. I know there's the standard wire covers from home depot made out of PVC that can be afixed to the wall, but I'm looking for something a little sleaker and perhaps maybe more ingenious. Any suggestions?

We had a similar topic last year that may be helpful here. If you hang the display, the most elegant way to hide the wires is usually inside the wall.

Wallmount it, then drill a hole behind the TV in a space with no stud, then run the wires through the hole, down and out another hole at the bottom where it would lead to your component rack/box.
