Bump. Got my plycraft eames knockoff. J's is closer to the real thing--mine has the four leg base and less faithful armrests, which is fine. Talking to local upholsterers now b/c I don't think I can do it myself.
One of the shops I was looking at (Home Anthology in Baltimore, great place) had a real Eames and a plycraft in-store. Obv the real thing is nicer--more neatly proportioned, less awkward angles--but the one they had, which was beat to hell, sold for over $3k.
