Replacement for Acne Mic Raws

So my Mics finally had a crotch bust after about 18-19 months of solid wear. Hence, they need to be replaced. Too bad, I loved those jeans to death, but I can't walk around with my junk hanging out.

I'm looking for a similar cut, low-rise straight leg narrowing a little in the calves. Not really looking for massive fadez with these guys, definitely not looking for stacking - they'll probably be my "dressy" pair. I'd prefer a bit thicker denim and maybe better construction than the Acnes.

Any recommendations?

Have you thought about repairing the crotch? It would probably cost 30 bucks to repair and would be well worth it imo, considering the work you put into it. If you're intent on buying a new pair I think the apc new standard petit would suit you--they're fit like the new standards, but are a much lower rise. I'm not sure how durable they are compared to acnes, but they definitely fit the bill for "dressy denim."

I feel like Acne is already on the high end when it comes to thick denim and construction. It seems like you would have to spend some serious money on anything nicer, probably going the Japanese route with something like Sugar Cane.

That being said, RRL might be a good choice for the dressier aspect, just use a seam ripper to take off the pocket stitching. I don't own a pair but I've tried them on and they have a very thiock Japanese denim. I think Mauro still has some on sale. PM him. (His user name is denimbar)

I've never tried the Acne Mic cut, so I can't quite say what compares. Have any measurements?

Well, the denim is 13oz Italian selvedge, if I rememer correctly. IE could be thicker, could be better quality - both of which would help with the wear issue. As for construction, Acnes are fine. I'm looking for that extra little something details like hidden rivets, crotch rivet for my wear issue, reinforced belt loops, nice hardwear. And I want all this to still look dressy enough to be paired with some chelseas, a button-down and a coat. Tall order, I know, but someone here has to know of my magic dream pair that's floating around somewhere out there.

I can get some measurements later, that should make it a bit easier.

Had they I probably would have bought a Max a long time ago.

Last non-selvage purchase: rb9's early last year. Unless I break down and pick up a pair of coated TF's like Get Smart, I don't see why I'll need to go non again. Ever.

If you ever buy Dior, there isn't really any need to go selvage :p That's been my only no selvage purchase since I got into denim.

Rag & Bone RB 14-16? I think APC NS will be too tight, as they measure significantly smaller at the knee/hem than the Mic. Also, as to crotch repair, wouldn't that show just enough to keep them from being at their dressiest?
